Workshop on Smart Industrial Networking in B5G/6G (WSIN-B5G 2022)
14. September 2022, Shenzhen, China

Scope

Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) will play a core role in the future Industry 4.0. It calls for increased density of interconnections, enhanced support to mobility, and decentralized decision-making mechanisms. To fulfill these requirements, industrial wireless network (IWN) has been widely considered as the most promising solution. Latest advances in IWN applications are raising new requirements, such as extremely high reliability with low latency, accurate positioning, higher-than-ever connection density, pervasive connectivity over wide areas, and well-protected data privacy. Such requirements are challenging the capabilities of mainstream wireless networking solutions, and calling for smart networking solutions based on B5G/6G technologies.

The Workshop on Smart Industrial Networking in B5G/6G will be held at the International Teletraffic Congress 34 (ITC 34). This workshop is to provide a forum where researchers can meet and find synergy, leading to discovering best practices for a future smart IWN. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic and the current situation in China, the workshop will be held in a hybrid mode, allowing attendance in either physical presence or online. We seek to assemble cross-cutting and high-quality original research papers on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Wireless industrial communications
  • Industrial IoT and IoE
  • Satellite based IoT networks
  • B5G/6G industrial campus networks
  • Network modeling
  • Network virtualization, slicing, and orchestration
  • Network resource management
  • Network optimization
  • AI, machine/deep learning, and federated learning for IWN
  • Localization and positioning in IWN
  • Communication-computation-control codesign in IWN
  • Cyber-physical systems and digital twins in IWN
  • Communication and networking for industrial UAV and AGV
  • xURLLC and mMTC for B5G/6G IWN
  • Transmission protocols and network management for IWN
  • Security and privacy issues for IWN

Workshop Chairs

  • Bin Han (Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany)
  • Wei Jiang (German Research Center of Artificial Intelligence, Germany)
  • Elena Lopez-Aguilera (Technical University of Catalonia, Spain)
  • Anke Schmeink (RWTH Aachen University, Germany)
  • Guolin Sun (University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, China)

Paper Submission

All papers should follow the ITC 34 submission guidelines and be submitted through EDAS. There will be a regular review process with at least 3 independent reviewers for each paper. Accepted papers can be downloaded from the open ITC digital library. In addition, ITC makes the effort to index accepted papers in public A&I databases. By getting sponsorship of technical communities like IEEE and ACM, as well as sticking to corresponding rules with respect to technical quality, papers of previous ITC editions were included in the corresponding databases IEEE Xplore and ACM DL.
