Living and working in the Department is strongly supported by our student groups. Without the commitment of our students many offerings would not be possible.
The members of the Students Represention, invest some of their free time in order to facilitate living and working at the university for students of electrical engineering and computer engineering. The Students Representation room (11-224) is open throughout the day.
The Elektrotechnische Kreis (ETK) is the association of student members of the VDE (Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technology) at the University of Kaiserslautern. They organize seminars and business trips for students of our department to provide them with first impressions about the future career as well as prospective employers.
The AG Auslandskontakte is in charge of international student exchange programs at the University of Kaiserslautern. As a student group of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering (EIT), they mainly take care of EIT students but also of guest students of numerous other Departments.
The "Nachbrenner" team - students voluntarily managing a room where students get together and also meet professors and research assistants on an informal basis. The "Nachbrenner" is located
in the basement of building 11.
EMECS-thon is an embedded systems marathon open to all students from EMECS consortial universities and partner universities, where the participating teams have 48 hours to develop an embedded systems project from scratch. The event is carried out simultaneously in the universities of the EMECS consortium, as well as in several partner universities each year. Organization of the event is carried out by EMECS students and alumni, with the support of academia in EMECS and partner universities, private companies, and local NGOs.
RadioEIT is the radio station of the University of Kaiserslautern. Program is available during some events of the university, several times a year.
The radio is located at the EIT department, which is also represented in the station's name. In spite of that all students which want to play a part in radio are very welcome .
