Systembiologie

Mathematische Modellierung biologischer Prozesse gewinnt in den letzten Jahren zunehmend an Bedeutung. Die Interpretation großer Datenmengen und die Analyse komplexer rückgekoppelter Systeme ist hierbei eine große Herausforderung. Methoden aus Automatisierungstechnik können übertragen und im neuen Kontext weiterentwickelt werden. Kombiniert mit biologischem Vorwissen, können Identifikationsverfahren eingesetzt werden, um nutzbare mathematische Modelle aus den Daten zu gewinnen. Methoden der optimalen Steuerung, Regelung und Diagnose können zur Interventionsplanung in medizinischen Anwendungen beitragen.
