In winter semester 1998/99, the working pool headed by Prof. Beister participated
in the seminar "Microelectronics" (lecture# 85-730) in cooperation
with the working pools headed by Prof. Tielert and Prof. Wehn. .
Due to their high, situationally aware speed of reaction, the potentially
low power loss and the absence of clockshift problems, asynchronous sequential
circuits attract worldwide attention. English and American research groups
succeeded in developing asynchronous computers. American companies like Intel,
HP and SUN initiated R & D groups dealing with the design of asynchronous
systems. The topics this seminar dealt with were in the area of asynchronous
systems.
